aux tank connector from northern.

I am about to start gathering parts for my self conversion this winter. My plan is to use the stock front tank as the veggie tank. I want to put a large capacity auxillary tank in the bed to hold veggie and then drain the veggie into the front stock tank when I am veggie burning.
The tank connector from northern seems pretty cool in that it appears from the description that it will automically keep the stock tank full. It seems a little steep at $59 though.
Anyone have experience with this? Or any other ideas. Seems like you could make your own with a manual valve for about $20 in parts.

Re: aux tank connector from northern.

Using that setup you'll have to heat both veggie tanks in order to get the one to gravity feed into the other.

I'd just convert the aux tank and run fuel lines to that leaving both your front/rear main tank for diesel fuel.

Re: aux tank connector from northern.

That could make sense but I was thinking that this plan would be super simple in that almost the whole thing uses the stock lines, switching etc. Part of the plan would be add a cutoff valve to the coolant so that I can have the option of not sending heat through the system can can run 100% diesel in that tank, or do blends in that tank, or when I have a stockpile of oil I can fill up the aux tank and have it supply the stock tank.
For ease of use and extended range on trips I am going to put a storage tank in the bed and run a line from it to go straight into the fillup nozzle of the front tank so that I can refill the front tank without doing any pumping. My oil is pretty good soy and is not solid at ambient temps. It would gravity feed fine I would think.
