B-100 and rubber degradation and fuel pump seals in OBS PSDs
[ QUOTE ]
When using B-100 exclusively, the lubrication could degrade certain types of rubber over time, which may require replacement of fuel hoses or fuel pump seals.

For those of you with '94-'97 PSDs running B-100 or WVO (not B-20), have you encountered any problems with fuel leaks due to rubber degradation or fuel pump seal leaks? I've heard that sometime during the 90s they changed the composition of the hoses and seals to those that won't react with B-100.

all last summer I ran Straight WVO, or a mix at least 75% WVO and 25% #2 in my front tank no heat or anything and I never noticed a problem with the rubber hoses. just started again last week.

I have 2 = 7.3s the fuel line going to the filter on my 93 was breaking down turning into a tar like substance My 89 no problem. Both trucks had engin changes so the engins might not match the year of the truck . Im puting a new engin in the 93 (Not a biodiesel problem)and I am insisting on Biodiesel compatable parts. I have had to change both injector pumps . They has a sinthetic solinoide in the injector pump that breaks down with B100. The new pumps have a SS solinoide.

From talking to some other WVO users, there seems to be a change over to the "new" type of rubber hoses in the mid 90s. Some say 93 and other say 96.
I would pose that question to some of the vendors here that are doing kits. They usually have done some research and maybe able to give a more authoritative answer.
Re: B-100 and rubber degradation and fuel pump seals in OBS PSDs
I am testing some fuel line by soaking it in B100. Not real scientific but I can sure see the results.
Right now, regular rubber fuel line will go start to degrade in about a week. When you handle it, your fingers turn black.
Parker Haniffin Hose #801 (synethic rubber) is showing no signs of any degradation. Remember, not all hose has the same innner linning as outter, so a fuel line that runs BD through the inside may be fine, but if BD gets on the outside, it may break it down.
I spoke with Parker Haniffin and they will only stand behind B20 on certian hoses. Of which #801 is NOT one.
I am running B100 through the #801 and a short peice of it is used IN SIDE the tank to hold the pickup screen to the pickup tube.
Have not been running it this way for long so no conclusions.
