B85 in stock Power Stroke ?

I've noticed they have 85% Bio here in town that is much cheaper. Can this be ran in a stock PSD?
Can it be ran straight or would I need to mix it with #2?

Thanks.

Re: B85 in stock Power Stroke ?

Just run it straight in your truck, it isn't going to hurt it.

Temps go below 55 every night.

...and I know it's 15% #2, just asking if it should be more.

Thanks for the replies guys, I'll try it out.

Re: B85 in stock Power Stroke ?

yea put it in the truck and run it. with summer coming up you will be fine. You may want to be slightly worried come winter time but when that time comes just set a sample outside and when it starts to get hazy put some more #2 in the truck

i'm sure you already have 2nd fuel filter on your truck. that would be my only other suggestion

Re: B85 in stock Power Stroke ?

Were running 100% in the 97 PSD. Last night down in low 40's, started and ran fine this morning.

Has anyone tried mixing/blending B85 with WVO? This maybe a No-No, But it crossed my mind and I thought I would ask. I am going ot receive a few drums of B85 and thought I could get it to last a little longer by mixing some WVO with it.

Thanks

It's a no-no. Mixing WVO and diesel is generally a bad idea in an unheated system.

If this is your first time running B85, or any blend of biodiesel, carry an extra fuel filter or two. Bio acts like a detergent, and will flush out all the crud that has accumulated in your system over time. The first couple tanks will clean the system out, and you won't have to worry about it after that.
