BD Seperation leaveing a visible "slime"? Does this happen?

If a b5 or b20 were to separate in the tank, what would one suspect the reason could be and what would the fuel look like if it were to separate? This thread goes with one I posted earlier. In addition to a "slime", the fuel has a difficult time pumping out of a 18gpm pump, to the point I think I could pee more than what is pumping. For a temporary, about 3 days temporary, we have had success using the additive 911. The additive seams to allow the "slime" to remix or blend giving a somewhat normal appearance to the fuel. The fuel is a yellowish color and when the "slime" is remixed it then has a cloudier haze but still yellow. By the way, why is it yellow? I thought on road fuel was a blueish color.

If it's seperating because of the cold it can do what you're saying i believe. The BD drops out this waxy type stuff and it doesn't mix back in well. Depends on the fuel and feed oil too I believe...

Is the biodiesel purchased or homemade?
Do you know what kind of oil it's made from (ie canola, chicken fat, palm oil, soy, restaurant grease, etc)?

how cold has it been?

If it gets c old enough to freeze the biodiesel portion of the mix, it can do what you're describing and that's a cold flow issue that's caused by the type of oil, not a real quality control problem. Quality control problems (like soap in the oil, or poor conversion) can also cause this, but sooner in terms of temperature (ie at higher temps than the same oil of converted properly and cleaned properly afterwards).

My mix also has what looks like some sort of fall out. Will it hurt anything to run it or do I have to stop running biod. for the winter?

no, don't run biodiesel with frozen stuff falling out of it. It'll clog filters.
