aklim, im always tinkering in my shop so an extra 30-45min/batch is nothing... my investor brings me all my oil in the 5 gal cubbies , so no time spent collecting oil... like i said after i sell the excess my cost is 0.. so ill spend a little time to drive for free... gets me outside doing something instead of veggin out in front of the boob tube..
I did not mean to start a urinating contest ! I guess I should have stated its a hobby that just happens to save me money.
Over the edge To answer your question I made my first processor from a 55 gal. drum some pipe and a pump. (reader's digest description) that cost less than $100. Or did you want to know what WVO systems are on the trucks?

What system is everybody using?svo, wvo, wmo and bio?what type of prossessers are being used? guys we are all on the same team play nice.............................................. ...............................................:re ad:
I started out with an 'appleseed' system I built myself. I could make 32 gallons of high quality biodiesel in 4 or 5 days, depending on the wash and dry cycles. It took 4-5 hours of my time per batch. I am a very busy guy and my time is precious but I love to learn stuff.
Now I use a BioPro 190 automated system. I can turn out 50 gallons of high quality fuel every 48 - 72 hours, depending on oil quality, and 30 minutes of my time. The processor paid for itself in less than two years (I use 3000+ gallons of fuel per year).
My TOTAL costs now that the equipment cost has been recouped is between 47 and 97
cents per gallon. I am a bean counter by trade so when I say total costs that is what I mean. I recover and reuse the methanol.
