Bio in new truck

In a month or so I was going to buy a new f250. I know the engine is supposed to be "broken in". Anyone have an opinion on starting it off right away on B100? I would like to run B100 all of the time but am not sure what running it during "break-in" would do. Thoughts?

Re: Bio in new truck

As long as the fuel is good quality and you don't have any cold weather issues, there will be no problems with never ever ever putting No. 2 in the truck. Quite the opposite. But... You may want to start running on No. 2 for a little while so that you know what the truck feels like with fuel that is spec. so that if there are ever any problems you have a control to compare to. Just a thought.

Re: Bio in new truck

I have been useing B-50 since the day after I bought the '06 truck, about 900 miles ago. Just worried that if I have any trouble the dealers will blame the fuel for a bad transmission or something. I will try the B-100 as soon as it warms up around here. I was running B-100 in my 7.3 with no problems.

Check out the act referenced below, From another forum, Burnveggies.net

Re: Bio in new truck

Seems to me unless they can prove the bio fuel was made to ASTM standards they will not have a "test case" against Ford from the onset, making it nothing but a nusiance suit.
The word "allegedly" at the beginning is very troublesome.
I am sure there are laws inreguard to using a product outside of an manufactures recomendations that would come in to play in a case of this type.
