If biodiesel is so much cleaner and better for the environment and has better lubricity for the injectors, then why are all the truck manufactures only covering our warranties with a B5 blend?
I have a Ford , and what they are saying is that biodiesel could cause mechanical failure if more than B5 is used. Even though you purchase it from a commercial producer and meets the ASTM standards??

Model years 2003 to 2008. Does anyone know why??
No I dont.
I do know that Ive ran a lot of B99 through my 2002 and 2003 7.3's
and the place I used to get biodiesel from had 2 08 F250's when they first came out...and they ran B99 as well.

Well I thought there would be some retired ford techs in here? We all know it will burn and work, but what are they so terrified about that they void warranties??

The only thing I can think it could be from would be mosture in the fuel. At the high presures that the new diesels run I had read that bio can do some weird things when there is mosture in it.Like turn to a plastic substance.I would like to hear from them the "auto makers" what there concerns are and what failures they think will happen.
If you have any failure that could be blamed on fuel, diesel or Bio they would not warranty .

The problem lies in loose or non-existant standards, and the ease of home-made w/out good QC. they can't control what we pour into our tanks (just take a look at what some here are burning), and they don't want to be stuck with a warranty claim.
BD is a great fuel, but it needs care in manufacture and storage to be used properly.
Just remember, Ford won't warrant a repair if you get bad #2 either.
