Bio Processor question.

I finaly have all or most of the parts anyway to build my Bio processor, (appleseed) the one thing that still baffles me is how do you know how much methanol and lye to add???

Re: Bio Processor question.

Do you already have Girl_Mark's book?

http://www.localb100.com/book.html

The book explains how to find non-scientific supplies too.

As far as buying Methanol and lye, I would start off with potassium hydroxide instead of lye (sodium hydroxide).

More info: http://biodiesel.infopop.cc/6/ubb.x?...mp;s=447609751

Good luck,

Hugh

Re: Bio Processor question.

Bought my scales off of an ebay store, the phenolphthalein from a wine making supply, test tubes were what my cigars came in.
Do a search for "A Visual Guide to Titration". I think it was here: http://www.localb100.com/forum/ The author wrote it simply enough so that an idiot like me can understand.

Re: Bio Processor question.

http://www.biodieselcommunity.org/mainpage/ is a complete resource for all you need to know about homebrewing biodiesel.
Biodiesel suppliers are also listed but here are the better ones in a nut shell:

1) http://www.utahbiodieselsupply.com/

2) http://www.b100supply.com/

Keep it in the "family", IMO, is the best way to promote our hobby. The Collaborative Biodiesel Tutorial also has a page with a calculator on it so you can use that also to help check your testing results.
Happy brewing.
