The glycerin you can either do one of the following:

1. Refine it more and make hand cleaner that you can sell or keep for yourself.

2. Refine it more and sell it to flower shops. It's used in the drying process of flowers.

3. Dump it on a compost pile and let it breakdown naturally. Just rotate the compost regularly like normal to get oxygen mixed up into the pile.

Re: Bio Production Waste?

If your hooked up to the sewer system the first wash or two can go down the drain. I would be apprehensive to do this if the sewer system in your city is combined with the storm water and there is a storm or snowmelt event. In a combined system the pipes reach a maximum flow capacity and overflow into streams, lakes and rivers to save teh plant form being flooded and shutting down. Just good to keep in mind.

Re: Bio Production Waste?

Ditto on the composting. I've been putting it on the compost pile and giving 5 gallon cans to friends for their gardens as well.

One friend told me that the compost pile is really steaming in the morning after he added the glycerin!

Re: Bio Production Waste?

Just remember the compost deal is only if you have removed the methanol. Are you guys running a system to remove the methanol or letting it evaporate? Think I need to build a recovery unit to save some $$.

Re: Bio Production Waste?

If you have a dirt driveway you can use it to cut down on dust and rutting. That is what my local bio refiner does with it. He sells it to the dirt race tracks for dust control.

Re: Bio Production Waste?

I'm just letting it evaporate, just using the KISS principle for now.

I'm going to use a heater core out of a car for a methanol condensor here in the near future.
