BULK PURCHASE SOURCES for Methanol/Sodium Hydroxide ???

Hi all,

I'm looking for Methanol/Sodium Hydroxide BULK PURCHASE sources .


Haven't been too successful with online searches.

What I have found so far is www.Chemistrystore.com and THIS place for Sodium Hydroxide.

Honestly you should check locally for a race fuel dealer. Check your yellow pages for a race track, race shop etc...if you can't find that go on VP race fuels web site they have ALOT of distributors in Florida. Shipping is obnoxiously expensive due to haz mat fees for NaOH KOH & Meth....usually the price of shipping is about the same as the price of the product!

for NaOH go to your local hardware store (Home Desperate doesn't count) the type where you walk in and they ask you what you need and guide you to exactly what you asked for. Ask the for Lye frequently used as a drain cleaner Red Devil is the most common brand name ask them what kind of deal they can cut you when buying it in volume.

Hardware stores are extremely expensive even when buying in bulk. Look up chemicals - retail in the yellow pages. If you have a Univar branch in your area they have a good price 35.00 on 50lb bags. There are several options such as microbead and flake. Ask the prices and you will be amazed at the differences depending on the type. Since we are pouring our options on the type are pretty much open as long as it is pure.

Methanol should be 130 to 155 per 55 gallon drum from a good supplier. Again, Chemical suppliers as well as race fuel suppliers are your best bet.

UNIVAR got it ALL! They're in Tampa (only ~100mls from here) and I sent them a fax for a quote!
