Cackle and BIOD

I see a few posts from some old timers...Pat Dolan?
For those that remember all the cackle issues....Biod has certainly made my 7.3 sound like a gasser. Not that it was all that bad before but around the 1500-1800 rpm range it would sometimes cackle. Not anymore. Anyone else find the same thing?

Re: Cackle and BIOD

I was never sure what the "cackle" sound was but mine sure got louder when the stations started selling the winter mix. 10 minutes after adding my first three gallons of bio, the engine was noticably quieter. My son noticed the sound reduction the next weekend when the mix was around 70%.

Re: Cackle and BIOD

My 6.9 got so quiet compared to the newer PowerStrokes, I was concerned that something was wrong with my engine!

But seriously, the improvement in idle quality, power delivery and overall smoothness of the engine was profound.
