condensation and wmo

i am having a problem with condensation, well im guessing thats what it is because i dont see how it can be anything else.

this past weekend i cleaned my set up and i drained about 2 gal of water out of both of my drums. i took all the oil out of my finished drum and put it back into the non clean drum so i could refilter it. then this morning i went to turn the valve on my non clean drum to see if there was any water in it and sure enough there was. i dont know how much yet because i did not drain it all out because i had to go to work.

is it because my drums are outside? or is it just seperating out of the oil?

anybody have any thoughts?

anthony

It's been my experience that it takes about a week for any suspended water to settle out of WMO. When it does, the water will be on the bottom and there will be a brown sludge layer between the clear water and the oil.

It's possible that if you sealed the drum when it was partially full and there was high humidity, you might get a little bit of condensation in the oil, but I would say less than a quart.

Perhaps your drum has a pinhole in the top and it's letting rainwater in, or the bungs on top of the drums are not sealed well?
