Cooking oil is bio fuel?

is it possible to use used Conola Oil as part of my fuel mixture? We use about a gal of cooking oil (Canola) around the house in a week. I have to take it to PEP Boys to get rid of it. If i strain it to get the big chunks out can i put it in the fuel tank a quart or so at a time?

Will there be any ill effects?

Thanks
Rado

Re: Cooking oil is bio fuel?

UHHHHH....

he is in the Biodiesel forum.

In answer to the first guy's question:

Yes you can mix that oil 50/50 with diesel fuel, just make sure you dont do this when it's cold out, the veggie oil will gel up and plug the fuel system.

Or.....

You can learn how to make biodiesel and not worry about mixing it with diesel. Sounds like you have a ready supply of WVO for making biodiesel.

Email me if you have more questions.

I recommend www.biodieselcommunity.org
