Creamy oil - Diesel Forum

Anyone ever made Biodiesel out of "creamy vegitable oil"? I got about 100 gallons from a friend and the card board containers all say "creamy vegitable oil". Will this work for Bio???

It's probably fine- that's just a partially hydrogenated oil- which still makes good biodiesel (cetane's better than if you'd used liquid oil, actually). The only difference between it and liquid oil is that it'll have worse cold-weather performance than you might expect from liquid oil-based biodiesel.

A fellow homebrewer here in Seattle succeeded in making biodiesel from lard.

Problem is that it started to solidify around 60F.

Cool. I think I'll cut it 50/50 with soy oil before I process to keep the cloud down a little. Its good clean oil for sure. titrates a 1/2!
