I am in too. I started about 2 months ago. I pour my WVO through a bed sheet into a 55 gallon drum that I turned upside down and cut the bottom out of. Pour equal parts WVO and diesel. Add Centane booster from the silver bottle (purchased at wally world) and pump it through the filter set up described in the DSE book. The information provided in the DSE manual was worth 39.99 since I saved almost twice that on my first tank up. My formulation is not the same as DSE but I was not ready to trust their blend. My blend is working great and cutting my fuel costs in half. I am very particular about the WVO I choose. This was another thing the DSE manual helped with. It explains what good oil should look like and where the best places are to find it. I had to snoop in many oil barrels before I learned which places have "good" oil. After several weeks of snooping and a few weeks of passing out home made business cards, I have enough sources that I may actually have to give away some of the oil I am picking up. Last week I scored nearly 55 gallons of premium oil. The only thing I have to discard after the process is a bed sheet with some stuff in it. I read a lot of speculation about coking the injectors and some other negative speculation but to date I have not heard from someone that has doing this the right way with the right oil that they experienced a failure due to DSE. That is my 2 cents.

We bought the diesel secret plan and additive. We are just getting started and having a few problems. It has taken us some time to line up our wvo sources and we have made a couple of mistakes (one in not letting oil settle long enough). We clogged up our filters on the fuel station. They tell us the older the vehicle is or the more miles are on the vehicle, the longer it takes to get rid of some kind parafin deposits left on the fuel tank from using petro diesel. Our first tank of fuel was fabulous for the first couple hundred miles or so. There was an amazing increase in power never before experienced with this vehicle and a huge increase in fuel mileage. Then we began experiencing problems with fuel filters and fuel pumps clogging up with a bunch of brown rusty looking stuff. Now this vehicle already has 100,000 miles on it using only petro diesel. It is a ford E 350 diesel. 2000 model. We also discovered that we were using some partially hyrogenated veggie oil, and as I said we figured out that we had not let it settle long enough. We hope to do much better on our second batch. We are not at all disappointed in the diesel secret formula or our fuel station which we built ourselves according to their exact instructions. Hey guys, once you get the manual, how much does the station cost in parts to build? Just curious, for the longest time I had wanted to try the DSE, but got a lot of flak about it, this thread seems convincing, but I would first look into a good oil source before I commited. I've also been looking at WMO filtering down to 1 micron or so

Any reasonable person would approach what we're doing (i.e. alternative fuels) with skepticism. But that should be OK because any good system can stand up to scrutiny.

I agree that if he's going to say he was scammed, he should probably back up his statements with something.

I have about $150.00-$175.00 in parts, filters, hose, valves, clamps, spare filters, etc. The 12 volt pump I use was free from work along with the plastic 55 gallon drums. Good Luck

..Thats great! Glad we're able to assist. I dont think you are necessarily doing anything wrong, per se; maybe the oil you are recieving has a high content of water? A good water filter will drop its output as it seperates out water from the incoming oil. I use the large, DL GOLDENROD 596-5 Water Seperator Filter assy. It lasts about 1 to 2 times as long as the other two filters in the system.

I too, have been using the DSE method since 2006, with 1000's of miles using it. I can only use it in the summer though here in Minnesota. I don't have a heated fuel system yet. I save $1500+ per summer on fuel costs.

As far as damage to my fuel system and engine? Yes, I had my injection pump go out at 180,000+ miles and 40,000+ miles later, my radiator corroded and clogged up, causing my engine to overheat, thus cracking the heads and letting anti freeze into the oil, leading to bad bearings and rod failure.

So I guess they (the naysayers) were right, it'll ruin your engine and fuel system, but I can't wait to get my new engine in so I can start saving money again using the DSE method.

And settle, settle, settle and filter, filter, filter that's the secret!

Jody

Hi everyone. Checking back to provide an update. I have been running my cold WVO mix since May. I drive my truck nearly every day and drive about 150 miles a week. As far as set up cost goes, I would say if you were to purchase everything new you could end up spending over 300 bucks. I have bought used water well pumps and scored some free drums as well. I think I have about 120 in filter set up cost and another 60 in finding the right pumps. I have done one filter station filter change and also changed the filter on my truck once. I am running 50/50 WVO/Diesel and adding centane boost from the silver bottle. I HAVE FOUND THE BEST WVO AT BINGO HALLS AND BARS. I pick up weekly (early Sunday morning). In my opinion the cheap barrel pump driven with a cordless drill has been the best at moving the WVO. At pickup time, I pump from the storage drum into a 55 gallon barrel in the bed of my truck. Then transport it home and transfer it to a 150 gallon storage tank. I have 4 sources and think I must be picking up about 60 gallons of WVO per month. So it stands in the holding tank from Sunday till the following Friday when I pump 5 to 10 gallons out, again with the barrel pump, pour it through a thrift store bed sheet ($1.99) and mix it up, pump it through the filter set up and 3 water hoses to the truck tank. This is not a clean process. You will get dirty and spill stuff from time to time. Get some cheap gloves and buy some old towels for cleaning up spills. I am running a 91 model F350 7.3 IDI.
