Luckily in Houston, Houston Biodiesel takes it. .20 per gallon, but it gets rid of it. Some have said that water treatment plants will take it sometimes, but I haven't checked it out yet.
The more I know about biodiesel,
the less I know about biodiesel.

The problem with swimming in too much glycerin is one reason I gave up making BD and went back to solely blending.
The other reasons: I didn't like working with the methanol and lye, higher cost per finished gallon of fuel, MUCH less return on each gallon of WVO collected, blending is easier and seems to be working just fine for me.

Landfill. More and more people I talk to are having no problem at all getting the landfill to take it- they usually want it to be in some non-liquid form, like mixed with absorbent/cat litter/sand or somewhat solidified like it does after methanol recovery. Obviously, you have to get permission and they'll tell you what to do - I know lots of people who've gotten their waste handler's permission to put it in the dumpster in some fashion, and others who have to bring it to the facility.
Household hazardous waste collections facilities at the landfill are starting to be familiar with biodiesel glycerine and they're another option for a lot of people.

Most landfills will take glycerol made from KOH mixed with kitty litter but not from NaOH. I turn the glycerol into amazing degreaser. I use it to clean parts, clothes, etc.
When we finally get the methane digester up and running, I'm going to throw the glycerol in with the mix. The methane generating bacteria go gangbusters on the stuff.
