I know, as do others on here.

Do a search first and read through this board and some of the VO specific sites. There is so much to tell you that it would be a lot easier for you just to read around a bit and come back with more specific quesitons.

In a nutshell, we use a seperate, redundant fuel system for VO. This includes a VO tank with heated fuel pick-up, fuel pump, pressure regulator and a filter. This secondary fuel system is heated using engine coolant.

There's alot of ways to rig up a conversion. Some people even appear to get lucky doing just that - but I have personally met (and seen the carnage!) quite a few people who it did not work out so good for. Trust me, if you 'do it right' - you WILL get your money back if ya drive much. Doing anything less will likely leave you on the side of the road when it is least conveinient and your spouse, in-laws, mechanic, etc. will also insist you were in fact a dumbie!

Like they said, be sure to read about Dino Fuel Alternatives V3 system. It truly is the Cadillac of VO conversions and worth every penny. I used the Frybrid V3 system in wifes Excursion - Frybrid gets V3 module from DFA and includes some of their exclusive VO tricks with their system.

Oh yeah, my truck has over 110k miles on VO and Excursion is over 40k miles now...

Listen to Jason,

he is correct on you get what you pay for. I rushed into it and luckily didnt have any major issues before I nearly rebuilt an entire system from my failed GFS kit for my excursion. The DFA kit is by far the best out there. You can build a kit that is similar but it would be hard to do if you want something that is totally automated. CHeck out FRYBRID SVO/WVO FORUM an open and public discussion of Vegetable Oil as a fuel lots of good info on there. By your user name it sound like you have an 01 so you are good to go. A properly fed 7.3 kicks ass on WVO. I am 40k in in 2 years and loving it. Be aware this can become obsessive!
