F250 conversion
I have added some pics of my homemade veg oil conversion. The link is in my sig.
I used a 25 gallon sprayer tank mounted in the bed of my truck. The HOH lines run inside a length of plastic conduit pipe from the passenger side of the engine bay to the truck bed. The return lines now converge at the IP instead of the rear of the engine and then merge with the HOH inside of the conduit. I have a glass tube in the supply side in order to see the fuel and air leaks. The pressure regulator and the schrader valve are located just after the glass tube. The stock filter header is completely gone as well as the mechanical lift pump. I am still using the mid frame diesel tank for my diesel fuel. The stock water separator has been relocated to the truck bed also. The fuel supply line runs directly from the stock fuel tank to the water seperator via a hole in the bed. The return side of the tank is capped off. I used the stock 6-port valve by relocating it to the bed and adding wire from the factory harness to the new location so I still have the fuel level guage and I can stil use the stock fuel selector switch in the dash. I added a second 6-port valve on the return side to be able to purge the veggie from the lines without dumping it into the diesel filter. The diesel return line is located in the top of the filter base and there is a tee in the veggie return line so when I am purging I flip another switch on the dash and it allows the veggie/ diesel mix to return to the veggie tank until the supply line is all diesel fuel. Then I switch back and the diesel fuel returns to the top of the filter base. So far my purge time is less then 2-3 minutes depending on driving conditions. I am using a heated Fuel Pro filter with the internal thermostat blocked open so it is maintains heated veggie with the coolant lines.
