Question F2F Ultimate Filtration Unit

New guy here,
I did a search for WVO filtration and found a lot of good info. Don't see a lot about this unit or just didn't see it. I want to go with the Vegistroke V3 but want to have all ducks in a row before I buy. When I read about this F2F Ultimate Filtration Unit it makes it seem like a simple process. The only thing is that in the forum you guys talk about letting oil settle for weeks and this thing calls for a 24hr settling process. Does anyone have this? Is this not good equipment and I need to look more into it?

V/R

That's funny, I'm getting the OC50 centrifuge unit. I'm staying away from any filtration unit with it as it will be messy. The centrifuge will filter down to .5 micron. That's better than any filter so I'm just going with that and putting it in my V3 as well as for my biopro.

So basically your going to use the centrifuge by itself? I guess that's cool but you'll have to do quite a few passess through it right?

I run the oil through the centrifuge enough for four passes at 125 degrees F and then through a 2 micron spin-on filter just to make sure. The 2 micron filter lasts hundreds and hundreds of gallons indicating the centrifuge is effective at filtering to below 2 microns. And, as mentioned before... much cleaner as I'm not removing cartridge housings to change filters and such. Other than a 2 micron cartridge every few hundred gallons, there are no consumables in this filtration setup. Works great!

It will filter down to .5 micron in less than two hours. No filter for me. Just pump it into my biopro and I'm done. I just wish there was a way to dewater it before putting it in the centrifuge. I'm told that it won't get rid of all the water. Just small traces of it. Jason Brown is the centrifuge specialist. He's helped me this whole way. Maybe he'll chime in. As of now, I'm going to heat the oil in my biopro and drain any water before I process it. That seems the easiest and cleanest way so far.

ToddT-- do you have pics of your setup? I'm going to look up this BioPro setup too. I don't want to over buy a filtration system, but at the same time i want good stuff. I also understand that I have to put in time for this but, as far as a system goes, the less I have to do, the better.
