Re: failed coloreado emmisions

If you are just wanting to pass the emmission test, Go to the local Sam's mart/Costo etc and get five gallons of peanut oil. Mix it with about half a tank or less of BioD and run it for about thirty minutes before going back to get re-checked.
That should help some
If thats not the right mixture, someone else will chime in and correct it for me. Thats whats so good about this forum!!!

Re: failed Colorado emmisions

adding oil from Costco (without doing a full SVO conversion to your fuel system) will probably not fix your emissions- if the emissions test is testing for particulate matter, adding a thicker fuel (oil) to the diesel may make your injector spray pattern look worse and you may get more soot in your exhaust. Please note I"m talking aobut using cold SVO here- if he had an SVO conversion that might be a different story. Using some biodiesel in the fuel is documented to do the opposite- reduces particulates.

Re: failed Colorado emmisions

HVAC, Little off subject but where do you live. I'm in Fountain and am setting up a processor thanks to girl mark's excellent book. Hope to start but still need a few more pipes and connectors.

Re: failed Colorado emmisions

The truck fail because of hi opac%
they test at speeds.
it passed on the hi speed at 60.8. opac was 30% max allowed is 40%
At 51 failed with 56% and failed at 42 with 64%
so
do any of you think the opac will be reduced using bio?

Re: failed Colorado emmisions

Hi. I live in the Denver area (SE Aurora)and am going to try making some bio and/or run WVO. I think I am going to start with bio because I need to go slow with the heated tank/pump/filter/regulator setup for WVO (money). Maybe HVAC and DSAMP and I should get together and "coop" a little. I called Bandemeir Speedway a cuouple weeks ago and they want $2.50/gallon for methanol. Where do you live HVAC?
