Fass on vegistroke V3

My friend has about 8000 miles on his V3 and is very happy with the product but now the Fass pump is not working even when you apply 12v to it. Has anyone else ran into this problem yet or is just some weird fluke?

Dead Fass

I had the big FASS pump die on me after 10K miles. I have heard of other problems with them too. Mine ended up a short circuit. On the positive side, I didn't have any problem with warranty from DFA.

No problems with DFA overnite shipped new pump no questions asked. My fass hasn't skipped a beat yet and it has 10,000 miles on it now.

FASS died after about 4K on it.

We installed a V3 on our E350 last March. The tank had another inlet filter on the intake. I had some contamination in my tank immediately after the install that led to blinding over this filter and the FASS pump had to both pull through this mess as well as push through the filters. Needless to say the fuse started blowing and when I sent the pump to DFA it was pulling 23 amps under no load instead of the normal 2 amps. Put new pump in from DFA and back to normal. May want to check if you have a filter on the intake that you did not know about.

After installing my V3, found the pump was blowing fuses. Jason told me to take the pump off and check the gears for debris. Nothing in the gears so I put the pump back on. Blew fuses again. Loosened the mounting bolts for the pump a little bit and the pump worked OK. A day or two later, tightened bolts more and pump has been working ever since. - Patrick

The FASS pump on my diesel side has started acting up and doesn't always come on, something I need to deal with soon...

All I have to do is knock on it my my knuckle, and then it will come on right away.

I have gone through 2 FASS pumps 12V with the second due to WVO leaking through a seal into the pump. DFA upgraded me to a 24V pump about 2 months ago and all seems to be going well so far.
