It sure seems to be a legitimate alternative fuel but I cant find any recent information about it. In 1996 the inventor, Mr. Gunnerman recieved approval and endorsement by a few as having real fuel. The fuel is a mix of about 1/2 water and 1/2 naptha with a dash of mystery fluid to emulsify the water in the fuel. I have read claims where he goes to the local gas station to get the fuel and mixes with the appropriate amount of water then adds the mystery fluid. The claim is better fuel economy and cleaner emissions. From what it sounds like the fuel can be mixed to run in diesels or gasser.
Has anybody seen any recent info on what happened to this miracle fuel?
Steve

friday I was watching Mythbusters and they were doing fuel additive myths. one of the myths was that mothballs (naphthalene) would give more power and increase mileage. Well they did not test mileage or power with it, they just revved up an old engine on a stand. it did sound different, more nascar like. So, since naphthalene is flamable i am betting there is a way mix it with any liquid and make it power a car.

I found the following text on line. it sounds like the naptha may consume the water. or turn it into another form.
"So, the emergency kit: a bottle of Bacardi 151 and a tub of naphtha moth crystals. In an emergency, the crystals can be added to the rum, shaken until dissolved, and added to the tank. The mothballs should compensate for the water in the rum, with an end result suitable for 10-20 miles. The rum would also be useful for cleaning sticky scum, sterilizing scissors, or (with a rag inserted as a wick) an emergency flare/lantern. The mothballs could be used for moth repelling purposes."

Mothballs in the gas tank is an old drag racer trick from the '50s. Put a couple mothballs in the tank, let them dissolve before the run and launch off the line.
Problem was that they'd turn the engine into a combination highspeed milling maching and blow torch, melting the engine down from way high combustion heat.
I suppose in moderation it could work.

I did some more research. The initial company that was started had been working with Caterpillar on marketing the product and Cat would be a Licensee. Well in 2000 was taken to court for filing patents that infringed on Gunnermans A-21 fuel. Of course Gunnerman won. As for watering down Gasoline it sounds like the license has been leased to several oil companies but I haven't found info on whats going on with the diesel mixture.
