HELP ! I'm looken 4 Viton Gaskets 2002 7.3 fuel filter cap & drain

Does anyone know where to buy VITON gaskets for the fuel filter lid and the little O-rings for the drain / pisser for my 2002 7.3 ????

Someone must've figured it out by now. If the guys who make and sell the stuff use it in their trucks, they must know. Seems like they would have gaskets for sale @ cost, so we can keep our truck rolling and reduce the risk of fire.

ANY HELP IS WELCOME

I wish I could give you some ideas on that triangle shaped O-ring on the fuel filter housing.

I finally just did away with that expensive factory filter after I had problems with junk screwing up the fuel pressure regulator.

With probably 10,0000 miles or more running B-100 I never had the drain valve leak but I knew it was only a matter of time with those Buna-N O-rings. For the drain, you can buy a rebuild kit and take them down to an industrial supply house to have them measured for replacements. Check on the 7.3 forum as I recall somebody listed what O-rings are included in that rebuild kit. It was years ago though.

Re: HELP ! I'm looken 4 Viton Gaskets 2002 7.3 fuel filter cap & drain

I spoke to tech support at the Racor manufacturing plant in Modesto,Ca about the compatibility of their gaskets and B100. Why was I not surprised that they are only rated up to B20? He said that the market for B100 gaskets is so small that Racor had no interest manufacturing them at this time. He added that the gaskets really have minimal contact with the fuel and one could probably get away with the richer blend of bioD. You can also lube the gasket in dino lube oil. But as for who stocks the beveled gaskets in Viton is still the million dollar question.

You only need two tools: WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.
