It has been discussed many times and most times the threads get locked.
Over at TDIclub.com at least they have been smart enough to ban HHO talk. Unless you drag an extension cord around, connected to your F350, then H2 and O2 might work for you. Til then....

Because the whole HHO thing is a scam designed to remove cash from the uninformed. Those that believe in it do so with a religous fervor. That makes the threads get pretty hot and the moderators have to spend a lot of time cleaning them up. It will happen in this thread, too. Just watch.

why are the threads being locked and the hho discussion banned?
Why? Because the discussions consume bandwith without offering any new or useful information, and usually degenerate into "nyah-nyah" discussions.
The concept has been around at least since the 1970s. Any patents have long since expired, putting the technology into the public domain. The technology is cheap and simple, well within the reach of backyard tinkerers, and the information is out there, not sealed in a vault at an Area-51 Air Force base.
And yet, thirty years later, nobody's adopted it. No vehicle manufacturer offers one as an OEM option. Major fleet operators like UPS, the post office and Hunt don't use them. Railroads don't use them. The US Army doesn't use them. Am I to believe none of them are adequately motivated by potential fuel savings?
So my question, still unanswered, is "Where are the yea-sayers"? Where are the test results to substantiate the claims?
The slience is deafening.

answer my question, why is it that there have been these ideas of creating a car or truck in means of not just using gas (oil) way back in the 1800's and now we are seeing more and more of hybrid cars in the 2000's
then I will answer your questions
just wanted to add this fact in as well
Rudolf Diesel, who invented the diesel engine in 1894, planned to run his creations on peanut oil.
why did it take so long for anyone to use it as a general practice today!???????

Reason: removed inflammatory statement.
70% of owner operator do have one on [their?] truck.
There you go. Drop in at the local truck stop and see what they're doing with 70% of their trucks. All the info you're likely to need to build/install/calibrate your own HHO apparatus, firsthand.
Do take notes & photographs and report back. The lack of solid information here suggests that nobody's been able to make them work as claimed.

Because it's a PITA, and I have a lot of experience with it. Yeah, I save on fuel costs, but once you go down that road, you suddenly have a very high maintenance vehicle and involved fueling process. It's not like you can just roll up to the pump, fuel up on VO and go...

in 1830's a gentle made the first electric car, why did it take so long for the car company's to start making electric cars to sell to the public.
Um, maybe because car companies didn't exist in the 1830's? There was no rural electrification to charge them, people couldn't afford them, there wasn't a demand for them...
