How Much Would It Cost To Setup Biodiesel Shop In Garage

I was just wondering how much it would cost to get setup correctly with everything needed to make my own bio-diesel. The reason I ask is that a show on tv said it was about $1700 and that seems really low, so any help would be appreciated.

Re: How Much Would It Cost To Setup Biodiesel Shop In Garage

Look up www.biodieselcommunity.org to find out what is involved.

I've got a 40 gallon electric water heat reactor (Appleseed processor) and a flat bottom wash tank (55 gallon drum design), so far I'm in about $300 plus $120 for a weekend class from Girl_Mark.

KOH is a better reactant than NaOH. Lots of good info out there, also some bad. www.biodieselcommunity.org and Girl_Mark's book is what I use.

Re: How Much Would It Cost To Setup Biodiesel Shop In Garage

Time is money, if you look around you can save alot, i got two 70 gal propane hot water for $40, bought most of the piping for under $30, had some vavles and other stuff, get free barrels from work, bought some filters for $40-$60, surplus stuff for around $50 all i need now is a pump and chemicals. so i've got about $200 or so plus my time, (which i would have wasted doing something worthless) and i'm having fun!!!

on edit oh yes i forgot $15 for girlmark's book!!

Re: How Much Would It Cost To Setup Biodiesel Shop In Garage

Im flying out to these classes (driving around the country in winter= brrrr),so adding more dates is kind of 'out' at the moment. There'll be some future tour where I'll do a more extensive trip with my van/trailer but that'll probably be in the summertime or fall.
