How should I heat filter

I have an 86 F250 that has a 7.3 from a 93.I bought the truck from a guy that had already run coolant lines to the front tank to heat the wvo.It has run fine until last week I drove it and the temp was in the 30's.I think the filter should be heated.I think the cold air hitting the filter housing cools down the wvo.The oil system has it's own pump(faucet) and filter which is a stock filter from a 7.3 . I have looked at alot of different setups that are sold online.Which do ya'll think is better a filter wrap or the heated housing?

wrap the outside of the filter with 3/8 copper tubing and run coolant thru it and then insulate it.Are you running heated fuel lines from fuel tank to motor?
Click on my photos to the left to see some of what I have used the heater filter combo was for a Mercedes 300SDL.

...I am having excellent results with a Parker/Racor NAUTILUS series Fuel/Water seperator assy. This filter is DUAL heated: The head assy is internally thermostatically heated by coolant lines from the engine. The bowl on the bottom of the filter also has an electric heating element mounted inside it. The heating parts of the filter only heat when the temp drops below 70 degrees. I have been on trips up north (I live in Fla) where the temps dipped down into the low 30's and I placed my hand around the element and it was nice and warm! It definitely works, as Ive had ZERO problems with my cold blend veg oil mix from gelling.

...This filter assy has to be special ordered, as Racor doesnt manufacture these until they recieve an actual order. In otherwords, made-to-order. I ordered this filter thru one of my marine wholesale suppliers and it cost me $550 including shipping, electric element bowl and relay kit. Note: Nautilus part # is 6401N. The electric heating element bowl has to be ordered seperately when ordering. Also, the filter assy comes with a 'Coalescer' (water stripping only) filter element. You can order (which I did) a '30' micron water seperator filter element if you want.

This is a big azz filter assy ( 16.5" long x 6" wide x 6" depth), as I had to mount this unit in front of drivers side rear wheel...

IMO, this filter delivers plenty of heat!
