Re: I NEED YOUR HELP with Texas law regarding pickup and transportation of WVO

I have a commercial driver's license so I am not worried about that. I also believe that you may carry upto 1000 gallons without any problems. We DO NOT have to register with the EPA. It is my understanding that Federal Law supercedes ANY state or local law when it comes to Hauling waste oil.

Re: I NEED YOUR HELP with Texas law regarding pickup and transportation of WVO

I only get oil from MY containers. I will not take oil that is not mine and is someone else's container-even if the owner says its ok to do. I believe this is the right thing to do. Does anyone disagree (probably not)

Re: I NEED YOUR HELP with Texas law regarding pickup and transportation of WVO

Well I spent ALOT of time on the phone today with various entities of the Texas State Permits office, meats, salvage and a few others. No one could find anywhere in the State rules and regs where you cannot pick up and use WVO for your own personal use. I need to call the Texas Ag person tomorrow to ask a few more ?'s. It is looking good here in Texas for us though. NO PERMIT needed for personal use.

If anyone has any other info, I would really appreciate the help.

TIA

Ian

Re: I NEED YOUR HELP with Texas law regarding pickup and transportation of WVO

Well I just exhausted I believe ALL my options for getting a permit here in Texas and have found out that you DO NOT need a permit to haul off WVO for PERSONAL use, provided that it is not sold or used in food/cosmetic products (I wonder if biodiesel would make a good astringent LOL) I hope my research will help someone else, if a "commercial" renderer tries to "butt" in on their WVO supply. If anyone has any more info they would like to add PLEASE feel free to do so.

Ian

P.S. here is a link to another site that I have been asking questions on

Re: I NEED YOUR HELP with Texas law regarding pickup and transportation of WVO

Ian,

I would definitely do as turbodiesel suggested on the other forum and try to get that emailed.

I did notice in texas law quoted on infopop that it states a license is required for a "renderable raw material hauler". This sound like a catch all that would apply to you regardless if it was personal use or for a business.

This is what I have to a waste hauler. Notice it says commercial purposes.

http://info.sos.state.tx.us/pls/pub/...h=221&rl=2

(23) Renderable raw material hauler--A person who collects or transports renderable raw materials for commercial purposes.

(24) Renderable raw material hauling vehicle--Any motorized vehicle or detachable trailer used in the collection, receipt, transportation, delivery, transfer, or storage of renderable raw materials for comme
rcial purposes.
