Loss of power / Low Boost

I recently installed a plant drive WVO system on my truck and maybe its related or maybe not but now I can only seem to generate 18 psi of boost, where as before I could get 25. That is true weather I am running fuel or oil. The one other thing I have noticed is with a looped return after I have been running for a couple hours I have air in the lines and can only make 10-13 psi of boost until I switch over and bleed it out.

With that being said is there a possibility I have air in the lines that I am not able to get out and hence down on boost all the time? Or could something else likely be going on?

What is the right procedure to purge all the air out of the lines?

I think the 7.3s are dead end fuel rails, and I saw a great looking coversion a while back but can not find it now... any ideas?

Thanks,
Bill

Re: Loss of power / Low Boost

I have the Plant Drive kit in my '97 and see lower boost numbers on WVO too. When running on #2 the boost is highest (and acceleration is fantastic), lesser on B99 and lesser still on WVO. I don't believe it's related to the Plant Drive kit, but has more to do with the lubricity, cetane and lower BTU rating. I have no idea why your lower boost numbers are seen on both WVO & #2. Mine are dramatically different. I have the looped return on my front tank and have NEVER had an air in the line problem. BUT mine is an OBS and yours a SD with different tank setups and different fuel pumps.
