Race tracks or local racing shops. I have no clue as to $/g. You'll probablly get a better price in 55g drum.

Yep, racing fuel supply places have it at the pump. Paid $2.80 gallon last time.

Re: Methanol: where and how much per gallon ?

I keep 5 drums at a time in my shop, no worries. to not leave the drum open as it will absorb moisture from the air. I give 100 a drum but I have to buy 4 at a time to do it. They usually want an empty drum for exchange or they will charge for it. I use it in my drag cars so I have no clue as to making fuel with it. Makes good consistant power though.

ABSOLUTLY NOT! Its used for making biodiesel with waste or virgin vegetable oil. Use of straight methanol with #2 diesel will destroy your high pressure injectors.

Methanol is the reactant for making bio diesel. Lye is the catalyst.

Mix the lye & methanol together, you have methoxide, which is used to form cetane molecules & precipitate out the Free Fatty Acids as glycerol. After wahing & drying, you have B-100 biodiesel.

Also blend with water for use as a fuel/cooling aid when injected in to the intake.
