What size misting nozzles is everyone using? Utah Bio has 1/4, 1/2, 2 & 4 GPM. I am making 80 liter batches right now, but would like to go to at least 100 liter batches later on.
I don't mist, so I can not give you any first hand knowledge. The reason to mist is for a gentle first wash. 1/4 GPM is a heavy fog in my estimation and 4 GPM is far from gentle. My hose end sprayer set on fan is about 2 GPM, that is what I use for a first and second wash by spraying the water into the bio and letting it settle thru, then I bubble twice and dry it.

You know that does sound like a lot. I went back and checked the numbers on their website and it said GPM. I e-mailed them and asked them about the orbit arizona system they have for sale and the numbers he gave me on that system was GPH.
I use 6 of the 1/2 gal per min on a 1/2" line loop about 2' in diameter, to service a 675L cone bottom reactor. If you are handling 100L go with the 1/4gal/min or less.

I use that misting system from Utah bio supply. I have a piece of plexi glass I drilled holes in and zip tied them to it. (holes for the mister heads and holes for the zip ties)
I bought a water timer from WalMart. $10
After a disaster, I found it to be a very good thing. I do 5 or 6, hour and half washes. Some times one in the morning and one in the evening.
I then transfer in to my finishing barrell. It has a water heater element near the bottom. I cut a hole in the side of the steel barrell with a hole saw, so the heating element would fit through. Then welded a 1in. black pipe coupling over the hole. Then screwed the element into the coupling. I heat the bio up while running it through a filter. I let it spray against the side of the tank by holding the hose onto the tank with a clamp. I do that for about 30 to 45 minues , then it is ready to use.
BTW I use the Arizona Mist Kit by Orbit. I have never had a problem with any wash. They are very gentle in my opinion and have worked very well for me.

I got my Orbit system in today. dkenna, do you have any pictures of your plexiglass setup?
I left the water on to the misters. I woke up about 3am. Ran to the garage and 25 gal of bio and water were on the floor.
3 bags of oil dry to clean it up.
Now the timer takes care of any future memory lapses
