Hello all,
Anyone want to weigh in on what, if any, modifications i would ned to make to my 92 F250 to run bio-diesel? Fuel lines, filter(s), etc?
Thanks
Chris
Mostly, all of the natural rubber fuel lines, if present, would need to be replaced, the bio-d will destroy natural rubber. You will need to replace your fuel filter in about 500 miles if you run bio-diesel because the bio-d cleans really well. Other than that there are no real mods to run on bio-diesel.
Thanks veg_svc for the info. Sorry in advance if this is a stupid question - but any way to know if the fuel lines on my 92 7.3 IDI are rubber or something that would not need to be replaced?
Take some bio-d and wet the outside of your hoses, if the hoses get distorted / mushy on the outside, replace. I have seen the mushiness after just a few minutes on rubber, but wet for a couple hours to be sure.
