Mods for WVO????

Can you mod a WVO/SVO rig? I mean lets say that the a greasel kit was installed and everything was set up right. WHat would happen if you chip it? Or perhaps a 10K mod. Doesn't that advance timing and longer time of injection from the injectors? I was thinking that LP would be a good way to boost the power of a WVO rig, but the idea of flooding the engine with WVO doesn't sound like a good idea to me. haha, what would happen if you had bigger injectors?? anyone know? any crazy ideas?

Re: Mods for WVO????

WVO/SVO is essentially identical in combustion properties as #2, so modding an engine burning WVO should not be an issue. Chip it,10K it put drugs in it, it shouldnt matter. But others may weigh in with different opinions here.

Re: Mods for WVO????

I beleive because of the higher CETANE rating of bio-D and WVO, that there is some slight timing issues that have to be corrected for if you starting running drugs like N20 or LP. I think LP advances timing (or you DONT want to advance timing, cant remember, I dont run drugs so its not on my list of knowledgeable subjects). But that the HIGH cetane retards timing slightly.

Would have to talk to a High HP guy that knows what changing timing will do to a truck.

Re: Mods for WVO????

I do know that advancing timing will in return give you more low end and slightly more power. I do think that chips advance timing in the motor but also do other things like lengthen injection time. If WVO was to retard it some i wonder how it would react with LP which i know advances timing. Man i wish i had alittle money and a old ratty diesel.... the 96' is pretty old and ratty but my pop has to have it for the company... I just got so many ideas. seems like the only way to find the answer is to try it.
