Re: New Alternative to Biodiesel WVO
Next thing you know these guys will be selling dihydrogen monoxide (DHMO) as a clarifying for biodiesel. You haven't played with yet? It is different than a flocculant... even more advanced technology. It works great for removing solids from waste vegetable oil but its so safe you can use DHMO to wash your hands. Better yet... no permitting is required to transport or store DHMO.
I don't know about their 'additive' but I suspect it is along the same lines as Power Service's anti-gel additive. Also, notice they say to avoid hydrogenated oils. Makes sense.
This, my friends, is marketing pure and simple. Sell the sizzle, not the steak. Most folks would rather pay extra for mediocrity than actually have to do some thinking, research and experimentation.
I don't think filtered non-hydrogenated oil is acceptable even with an anti-gel agent. I'd love to be proven wrong though.
