NO ANSWERS!! What filter and pump combo for pwrstroke

Here is a question that I havent been able to find an answer for anywhere. I have a 1997 powerstroke which i am converting over to WVO. All Racor filter models except the 110 are made to run on the suction side of the lift pump. So is the Vormax filter. The FASS WVO pumps are made to only have filters greater than 144 micons before the pump. How are these installed with conflicting specifications? And is the Vormax able to handle the FASS pump which would be running at 90gpm at 40-60 psi? I havent found a diesel filter yet which is built to handle this. Are there any? And would my 1000 ma work before the FASS pump? Im gunna rip my hair out over this

The FASS runs at 90-95 gallons per hour, not a minute (depending on model, but the units are gallons per hour). There's a bunch of fuel filters that will handle up to 10-12 gallons per minute.

sorry typo. 90-95 gpm would be nuts. The nautilus series racors can handle 120gph, also use the pressure side, only handle 15 psi. Will it work anyways? will the filter element come apart at 40 psi? Thanks for reply

good site but they didnt show and specifications for the filter set ups. I e-mailed him for specs. Still no 40psi 95gph pressure side filter. What are you guys using in front of your fuel pumps?

My set up is on a 2003 7.3 at 70 psi so if it works for me its gonna work for you. If you are going to use the FASS/DPP pump then Use the specified filter the fass DPP pump uses which is the Fleetguard FS1023 for before the pump and use the same filter the vegistroke uses which is the donaldson P555823 after the pump. Put the filter wraps on them that are sold by Frybrid or DFA/Vegistroke which are made by ARC for heating nitrous bottles. I think the Frybrid one is nice cuz it does not use velcro. Anyway this is the set up I have and it works fine. The heater wrap is a little big for the prepump fleetguard filter. I just cut the velcro and overlapped it and used a large stainless band clamp.

The cheapest place I have found to get the Donaldson filters is Reliable Industries. 1 (800) 693-4583 You have to fax in your order. They sell for $8.15. For the fleetguard prefilters the cheapest I have found them is through Filterbarn.com for 16.98 each.

Both of these filter have threads that are 1/14 and you can filter heads from napa/wix for $20. Good luck.

AJ

On my truck, I run a 95 gph FASS pulling through the Vormax with a Racor R90S on it, and it works just fine. Loop your return - that will conserve a lot of heat, and it will make things a lot easier on your filter, as you will only be pulling what you're burning, not what the pump is trying to pull. The bus also has a Vormax, and if that will keep a hungry 466 fed, then it will do just fine on a PSD.

I have a 100gph raptor pull through Griffin 1000 (Racor copy, I guess)...heating the pickup tube, line to filter, line to pump and then pump to the motor...I also have both just behind my toolbox...flat daimond plate with dzus fasteners incase I ever need to access the pump, fileter heater and then the filter is then easy to change too.
