Nomad tanks- Reviews? Any pics?

Greetings all-

I have been thinking about going veggie. My only holdup at this time is the tank.

Does anyone have a Greasel Nomad tank? How do you like it? What does it look like in the inside? Are there baffles?

How is the heating of oil accomplished?

The two chamber thing has me confused. How do you use it? Do you use the two chambers to filter and store or simple store oil?

Any better pics posted somewhere?

Thanks

Dennis

I don't think there are any baffles - mine doesn't have any.

Heating is by a coolant pan that circulates coolant back and forth along the width of the tank. It works well.

Photos are on my photos page in my signature. Also see the thread Y2k PSD conversion that is sort of a blog for my experience.

The passenger side tank is for raw unfiltered grease. You set the valve manifold to pump the grease from the pass. side tank and pour it through a big "sock" filter into the driver side tank that is your fuel supply. The fuel then flows through a Racor FHS Aquablock filter to the fuel selector solenoid.

I chose the Nomad because I wanted all of the mess contained in the bed of the truck.

I've been very happy with the system overall, but you will definitely need a better pump to move grease into the system from the traps. The Nomad pump works, but slowly in cold weather.

Search for my username to find threads on these issues.
