peanut oil filtration

my folks have a carnie trailer, and have switched over to peanut oil to fry with.
what filter and pump would be easy for them to use to filter and strain teh wasted oil for burning in there truck yep its a 6.0 low mpg model
i still get 16.5 at 75 with my 7.3 and they only get 15

Re: peanut oil filtration

I think the jury is still out on wvo in the 6 litre..some problems have cropped up in using B100 in those motors with the higher injection pressure in the 6 vs the 7.3.

If they want to experiment great, but it would probably be prudent to run a low wvo percentage blend with diesel to start.

Re: peanut oil filtration

My first and best quality source for oil is a caterer that uses peanut oil, he uses it maybe a couple of times before changing it out..I wish some of my other sources were of that quality.

I have a summer home in Canada so not RV'ing but I'm no stranger to that lifestyle as the wife and I did live in our motor home for a little over a year.
Once I get my in bed tank installed I may entertain the idea of getting another trailer so we can detour our usual trips up there and back since fuel costs won't be an issue

Re: peanut oil filtration

I wish fuel was only 219 here. Currently 259 and that is down from 269 in southern Oregon.

Re: peanut oil filtration

But your living in gods country so that makes up for paying a little more

Or at least it used to be..Its been a few years since I've been to the southern Oregon coast, but I had a girl friend in Gold beach back when I was living in Lincoln city...Damn I miss it out there..

B100 and WVO is not the same critter, and while I cannot speak of the 6 or 7.3, not having either, the only problems that I have read about and have had in my Benz concerning biodiesel (B100)has been the slow deterioration of rubber seals and lines and also the cleansing effect that B100 has on the fuel tank, lines, pump ect. Any left over gunk from dino fuel will be cleaned out potentially clogging up filters.
I haven't had the deterioration problem but I have had the filter clog one, at the sediment screen inside the fuel tank no less, a royal PITA (Pain In The Anatomy).
I have read in many posts about the use of SVO/WVO however am in no position to authoritatively comment on it in this context.
