I'm still working, slowly, toward my conversion.
I don't even have a shoe string, it's more like a thread
I've managed to convert an acme juicer for use as a centrifuge.
I already have two tanks (on a van) with the stock Polack valve.
I've ordered a filter and base for the WO tank.
I've been planning where to move the filters, valve and (eventually) electric fuel pumps.
Currently the valve is near the front tank and on the inside of the frame 'beam'.
Ford placed a lot of stuff inside that beam.
It looks like I'll have better luck if I move the filters and valve to the outside of the beam where there's nothing in the way and it can be much closer to the engine.
Here's the thing, if I move the valve to the outside of the beam, it will need to be flipped over so that the fuel line connections will be pointing in the right directions.
In other words, instead of the line connections being at the top of the valve, the valve will be rotated so that they are on the bottom.
Will the valve work ok being upside down like that?
IF you have enough heat in your VO system the pollak valve will likely fail in short order no matter how you mount it. Beyond that, a single 6way valve contaminates the diesel tank every time you switch back to diesel.
IMHO, not a good idea. There are MUCH better ways to do this and insure you will actually save money in the long run. (IP's and injectors ain't cheap - but AAA plus will tow ya home, up to 100 miles! )
Hydraforce 3 way valves are under $100 ea and will last practically forever. I recommend a valve for each the supply and return and a 3rd valve on the return to 'loop' the (hot) VO back to the pump while running on VO.

Right now I'm struggling just to get this going.
I have plans that will eventually use better valves, pumps and heating.
I'd post a diagram of the final lay out, but can't afford those privileges on this forum.
For now I'm looking at using WMO (which requires less heat) with HOH heating, separate tank filters, centrifugal pre-filtering with a final 2 micron pre-filter.
I may try moving the pollak valve to the manifold to reduce the amount of return wmo that can go into the diesel tank.
If the diesel tank appears to be getting too contaminated, I'll just pump it into the WO tank and refill the diesel tank with fresh fuel.
I'll be improving and adding to the system as I'm able to.
hey airfooter, ya got a part # for that valve?
Thanks
