Pump/Filter kit for WVO pick up - what do you all think of this set up?

Ok I am a practical person, I don't like to mess around/waste my time if I don't have to. I don't mind paying a few $$'s extra for achieving the above.
I like to learn from other peoples opinions/experience so please give me your input on what I have found HERE on Ebay.

Does the set up above look to you like something useful? Or would you rather use something else (better?!).

I live in sw FL so flowing issues are not existing where I live. It seldomly drops below 70F (in the winter) where I live.

Thanks for your input!

Re: Pump/Filter kit for WVO pick up - what do you all think of this set up?

The pump is where the majority of the expense is.. The rest of the kit looks like it would clog pretty quickly, though. I use a filtration housing I purchased from filterbags.com (X100) and change out the bags to steadily decrease in micron rating. I pump it with a 1" 1/2 hp water pump I got from Northern tool (common biodiesel appleseed processor pump) I can empty a 55 gallon drum for filtering in a few minutes. Seems to be running good so far although I'm trying to find a more efficient way of heating the oil/dewatering the oil.

Rich thanks for your reply!

As for the heating the oil/dewatering it I suggest an electric water heater for the heating part and for the dewatering part one of THESE cone tanks.

Use a vacuum system to collect oil and save the filtering for when you get home. When I go to someones place I want to get in and out, not have to deal with filters.

Re: Pump/Filter kit for WVO pick up - what do you all think of this set up?

97_Suburban_in_VT I was thinking to do that. Actually I like the idea because it avoids having to deal with clogged strainers etc.

Could you give me an idea how your set up looks like, maybe even pictures? What kind of vacuum pump are you using (and where did you get it from)?

Thank you!

Re: Pump/Filter kit for WVO pick up - what do you all think of this set up?

For the money they want for that set up you cold buy a TRASH PUMPthat pumps 300 gph, a set of hydraulic quik connects and some swimming pool hose.

Or seeing how youre in Fla you might be able to find a good deal on a 12v bilge pump. Ive seen them that will pump 250+gph

I have one on them fill rite pumps that is about useless for collecting. and just barely ok for transfering settled oil to the heater. Now its just here as sort of a backup pump, since I started using air pressure to transfer between drums.
