Question on type of fittings to use

I have an aluminum tank with aluminum male -8 JIC fittings welded into it. Can I use fittings made of anodized steel and/or brass to adapt the tank fitting to the hoses coming into the tank? Thanks.

Brass contains copper. Copper is not recommended for VO. I've seen some of my brass fittings (hose barbs) develop the classic copper green oxidation where there was a slow leak at the threads. Go with stainless steel.

You won't have any problems mixing metals. Steel or Stainless Steel is preferable for SVO/WVO. Check out Discount Hydraulic Hose.com they have a good selection.
