A question for the Washington brewers and SVOers - Diesel Forum

In WA are there any regulations on transporting grease. In CA we have to get registered with a renderer's liscense and have proof of liability insurance and such... I looked on-line but could not find anything difinitive. A link or suggested keyword search would be helpful, thanks.

Not that I'm aware of. With the legislature and local governments here in Washington being pro-biodiesel right now, I dont think they're going to waste time looking at every small brewers operation.

I do know that here you are allowed to have 250 gallons of fuel (or any flammable liquid) on your property in sealed containers.

Transporting say 15 gallons of WVO a week for a homebrew operation isn't going to attract much attention around here, you'd be amazed at the amount of people here in Seattle running their cars and trucks on biodiesel.

I'm moving to Seattle this July and was curious. Do you think I'll have a problem finding restaurants?

Nah, I don't see a problem. I would stick with the asian food restaurants. They are usually paying someone money to come take the oil away, if you can take the oil away for free, they'll be more than happy to let you take it.

The place I get my oil from gives me about 15 gallons a week in the 5 gallons cubes, makes it a breeze for pickup rather than pumping out 55 gallons every month.
