Retail pricing

What are the various blends going for around the country? Have the prices been keeping up with regular diesel, or has the gap narrowed? Unfortunately, I have no retail outlets nearby to compare...

One would hope that raising oil prices would narrow the gap. If not, why not?

Also, lower prices and wider availability could be coming our way in the future. The Senate recently passed S. 1637, which includes tax credits for distributors providing bio-diesel blends. There appears to be bipartisan support for the tax credit in the House. Here's a link with more info.

Re: Retail pricing

There's a soybean shortage right now, and that's driving up the cost. My local distributer is selling B100 for $3.45/gal at the moment.
See this thread.

They wish there was a shortage! It's called farmers being paid not to grow them, helps keep the prices up!

Perhaps. But China has made significant purchases this year, and there is concern that the silo's will be empty come September. The government isn't paying $10 per bushel not grown, so I suspect this situation will correct itself by next year.
