If you're going to run it mixed, you should rarely ever run into any problem at all.

Filter it down to 2 micron if you can. Stock filter is 7-10 I think.

In the winter I run about 75% WMO. In the summer I'll do 100% sometimes.

Don't know how much you plan on running, but it can start to smoke when you first start or under hard acceleration.

An IDI....You should have no problem.

At times I could be talked into trading my 7.3 DI for an IDI just to get a motor a little more tolerant of alt. fuels

As long as you filter it really good I don't think you'll run into any problems. I run it at around 90% and haven't had any problems.

beast, bringing this topic up here - gets the cream to rise. You'll find a ton of info about doing this both here and through google.

Some keys I've picked up about doing such are:

Don't use oil you don't know where it came from.

Filter, filter, then filter again. Prefilter dilution with <insert your dilution material here> aids gravity fed filtration systems.

DI's should IMO keep a check on how much used to a tank of #2. 50%, at most should suffice - YMMV!?!?. Guys with gen 2 trucks report success after thousands of miles using WMO. Just stay on top of your trucks operation and maintenance!

Consider also using Super Tech TC-3W Two Stroke Oil, along with the WMO at 1oz per gallon.

As always, stay on top of filter changes and draining your fuel bowl with every oil change.

Don't be in a rush to burn your oil, allow the heavy particulates to settle out before filtering it for use. < hint for when building your storage tank

Last but not least... don't go around smokin up the joint. Folks like that will be what ruins it for the rest of us!

Tried 30% mix yesterday. Very happy with it after 70 miles or so. It will smoke more when lugged but nothing at idle so far and I am pretty sure it is a little bit quieter. Calling around to drop small barrels at some local mech shops to build up a supply and will put in a heat exchanger to be on the safe side as I am in Montana and will only do one tank in the winter. I want full diesel for below zero startups.
