Stopping in for a quick howdy.

Finally had a chance to check in sand see how things are going. And as usual snafu. First my apologies to Freds. Probably should have waited until I got back to be available to T/S any potential problems. But hey on the bright side of things, My truck has been running well after Sagebel installed the turbo. , Until the wife had to stop on I-5, and a 3/4ton Dodge Ram ran into her and the kids doing about 50. . She will live, although pretty banged up, but the truck may not. Looking to be a total. I guess that's OK, its a chance to upgrade( the truck not the wife). And of course My command will not let me come home from San Diego

So enough of my problems, How is everyone here? how has your truck been running CPU? I should be able to get back in here in the next few days. I also have some updated info and schematics although not on me. Got to run, have watch soon!!

Re: Stopping in for a quick howdy.

Jason, that totally sucks. Let me know if she needs any help getting all of that veggie stuff off of teh truck before it goes to the yard. I also have some other stock stuff if you are thinking about getting the same thing.

Re: Stopping in for a quick howdy.

Man, large vacuum on the wreck! Tell your wife some of your greaser buddies will be praying for a quick recovery. That must be tough on you down there and her up there.

If they total the truck, will they allow you/someone to remove the add-ons? I have a feeling these 'accessories' we're adding to our trucks are not covered by insurance and won't impact our appraised value in the event of a total. Can we take it off after the accident?

Keep us posted on your choice of trucks. Of course, the 'stang ain't too shabby a second vehicle except for toting kids.

Keep up the good work for freedom!

Todd

Re: Stopping in for a quick howdy.

All that is insured is a stock truck. He should be able to pull off the new wheels and tires, veggie equipment, guages, video system, etc... I know that when my wife wrecked her car, I took everything that wasn't on it when we bought it.

Re: Stopping in for a quick howdy.

Sorry to hear about your truck, FN. Glad your family is ok.

Interesting tidbit: I contacted Neoteric about whether they had done any installs on PSD's, and asked them if they had heard about your system, and they had:

I quote: "We're not doing the deadhead in the rail - aka unplug the 2nd plug in the fuel rail thing and use two fuel pumps and checkvalves thing that the guy who's now in the army did - if that's what you're referring to. I know he posted about it on thedieselstop - and in fact contacted my buddy Charlie Anderson of Greasel about selling it - Charlie and I both think it's a very clever system, but not easy to install. "

You're becoming famous! Congrats

Re: Stopping in for a quick howdy.

Not sure if it will be totaled yet, really depends on the frame. I happen to work with an activated State Farm claims adjuster, and has been a big help in things I can go after. So long as I can prove all the work and parts on the truck, I should be able to get paid for that, and keep them if the junkyard allows. However, the big thing though is the fact that if the truck can not be fixed, And we get anothe one, The wife will now have to start paying the going ripoff rate for #2, vs the .10/gallon we usually pay for oil. That is not claimable. I am still fighting the command to see If I can get home to help the wife take care of things, but the outlook is bleak.

Todd- You are so right, the stang will be merely "adequate" transportation, . However, I am Extremely happy she was not in the Stang when this happened. Could have been real bad.

We did however finally get our mobile internet connection up, So I now have a lot easier access to the internet. Sage, I may be in touch once again if worse comes to worse. Thanks again. I will owe you a few kegs by the time i get back.

Re: Stopping in for a quick howdy.

Just let me know. Remember that I am on a true shore duty so time off is fairly easy to get.

Re: Stopping in for a quick howdy.

True Shore Duty?? I will be right next to the shore, so that is still shore duty right? I should find out today how much it will cost to fix it. They need to remove the bed to find out how tweaked the frame is. I hope it does get fixed, and not trashed, would make life easier all the way around. Here are some pics. good stuff. Not quite as bad as I was expecting, but still must have been a significant impact.

Sage- You ever get your Overboost/defuel thing taken care of?

Re: Stopping in for a quick howdy.

Pics don't look too bad until you look at the hitch. The way that is bent, it may have tweaked the frame. Jason, the overboost is not yet fixed, but the parts have been on the bench for about 3 weeks now. Been working on getting my processor up and running and making test batches.

Re: Stopping in for a quick howdy.

FN,

We'll be praying for your family's safety and quick recovery!

I'd say you need a pick of the inside of your bed. If you see wrinkles, you're probably screwed, otherwise you might have the force with you. I'd have to say looks like the stroke served the ram

My system really is runnin great. There is a few little nusances, but other than that this thing rocks I've got some info on my trip to Destin, FL this last week (spring break) that I'll be posting over the next week. God speed man, thanks for your commitment under even these extream circumstances (family)
