Temps are cold - processing question
Here in New England, we are getting snow, snow and more snow. Now it's getting c-c-cold out. Some questions I have, with a little bit of "prep" explaination - there has become a potential source of WVO for me that is solid at cold temps (Hydrogenated oils ?) - the resturaunt mgr said the oil is solid at room temps. Anyway - Changes his oils every Wed at 9pm (closing time), about 10 to 12 Gal. In these cold temps, I have oil just sitting as I have no way to pump it, and not enough space to bring it inside to warm up enough to pump it. Yup - I'm busy in springtime, but was thinking about this new oil. If I put 2 gal of methanol with a 7.7 gram/liter KOH base in a container, picked up the WVO while still warm, then added my methoxide mix, covered it - let it mix while driving home (sloshing around), and finish it when the outside temps increase, how would I titrate ? Could I titrate reasonably accurately with a methoxide/base KOH mix already applied ? Maybe 20% (2 gal methanol) would actually be too much - I should probably consider 1 gal to 1.5 gal pre-mix.
