Re: Take your glycerine and get out!

Don't quote me on it but I believe its paraffin waxes etc. Never seen it happen, and if I stay in FL, I'm not likely to! The parafiin is teh explanation the Haynes Diesel Manual gives. They're right about most things but wrong on some critical stuff. Maybe that chemist guy who was on here will post in response to you and tell ya for sure.

Re: Take your glycerine and get out!

It is paraffin wax and I have seen it happen on each of my vehicles at one time or another. The stuff clogs up the fuel filter real quick if you are unlucky enough to have #2 Diesel in the tank when the weather turns cold in northern climates. Last year I ended the summer with full tanks, I forgot to leave the tanks down on fuel, and had my 1990 F350 stalling. I had to wait for a warmer day, then dilute the fuel by adding #1 as soon as I had one tank down a little. It was a pain in the A$$.

Bio Diesel or WVO both sound appealing, but I think they might be impractical for cold country, especially during the cold months.
