Tried B20 for the first time...

The truck is running very well on it. I changed my fuel filter 2 days after fueling up with it, and noticed the old filter and the fuel in the bowl were dark brown. My chassis has 188K on it but my engine only has 68K. Is this the B20 cleaning everything up?

Re: Tried B20 for the first time...

It will. It'll take longer than if you were using B-100. You're new filter should be good for quite awhile. Carry a spare just in case.

I've been using b-15 since new about every other tank. I've had both fuel filter sets (2 on the 6.0) go to 15k & both looked like they could go longer. I've not seen any water in my bio-d fuels, the 3 -4 times I've drained.

Re: Tried B20 for the first time...

Previous owners did not have air filters installed correctly and engine got dusted. Found out later that they even replaced one head in it before me getting the engine. And that on one bank of cylinders the valves and rings were bad.

TCH777...are you making your own or buying? I'm down in East of Fountain (Little Ranches) and make my own. Running about75% right now. My 2001 sounds like the new 6.0 now...kinda miss the clacking...
