Im going to hit the phone book for a local source for KOH and I want to buy 30 to 60 pounds of it. What types of business could I call. Done just say Chemical
Ya know Normam, I might just try to contact you the next time I am making a run back to/from NW Iowa to visit my folks (from Denver). Even in Denver, I have problems getting KOH because I need a business license to get a good deal (I have used braintan.com to date). I have been able to get a barrel of methanol for ~143 including tax/barrel, and I don't think that is a "great" price either.
I know you posted earlier, but what kind of prices are you paying for KOH and methanol, and are you needing a business license to buy?

Here in the Seattle area, I buy my KOH in a 50 pound sack from Tarr Incorporated.
I think their website is www.tarrinc.com or something like that.
I get my methanol from them too, a 50lb sack of KOH cost 48 bucks.

just look under 'chemicals' and call all of them. Some are going to be high-grade lab supply places and some will be providers of chemicals to industry.
