NH and ME have gotten out of control with inspections. It does not surprise me one bit that something failed.
My Impala failed becasue of no smog pump even though gm and the epa said it was ok not to have it.

I just went and found all my info from when I had issues with NH.
Here is the copy and paste. If anyone has isses with inspections follow the protocal and you will get somewhere. These types of things are complete BS. If someone is a member of the other site post this info for any unlucky NH residents.

My car gets inspected Wednesday afternoon. Only because I was relentless on the phone everyday after EPA told the state to inspect my car.
What I found out today is that NH still is not wanting to accept the TSB or the fact that GM allows the removal of any emmision equipment. This has involved the state lawer's, GM, and the EPA. Basicly GM does not want to recall all these cars, so they neg with EPA for emmision approval. NH as of right now has and is speaking with GM about all of this. It is my understanding that NH has barked up the wrong tree with all of this, and someone is trying to prove their worth.
Anyhow here is the order in which anyone should procede for a inspection after removal of the pump becasue I was told they are going to give inspection aproval on a individual basis. This means the state is going to call my station and give the go ahead, and send a officer if necessary. I think everyone should have their station call, because I smell set-up between the state and inspection stations. So instead of inadvertantly screwing your local station that you like, inform them and let them cover their buts.
Lt Wayne Perreault should be first contact 271 1025 or 271 3339
After initial contact if he does not have the authority to aprove right away call
Becky Ohler 271 6749. She has the TSB and knows exactly what is going on with this and whos desk your concern needs to go across. Next is
Jen Jakubanskas 271 8800. No need to be nice to this woman. You will not ever get her and she will call back when she thinks she will get your voice mail. She has been one of the hurdles in this process and has been very unhelpful
Lastely call Earl Sweeney 271 2559. He is the commissioner and gets things done, but only after you have followed proper procedure. he called me at 9pm tonight just make sure everything was ironed out for me. Great guy, very nice, and very nice to deal with.
As far as I know all these numbers are public offices and extentions. If took me a long time to get all of this so all of you might as well have it.
Forgot to add NE EPA contact is 617 918 0045. I can't remember what the mans name is, bu he has been very helpful in this process also.

No for my pick-up or for a wvo set-up. I am just providing the necessary people and phone numbers for people to get around the stupidity of the of the state and the scared inspection stations.

New Hampshire and Maine???? Why would ANYONE expect something good coming from the most LIBERAL states in the USA??? I'm in Ca. and it is getting really awful here too.... I'm presently looking to get out of here..
The guy with the Greasecar should have argued at the time of inspection. Called for a supervisor and never taken the car off the premises. The tank not being DOT approved is crap!
The tank didn't have to be approved because it held a noncombustiable material.
And he did not know enough history about the diesel engine to bust their chops!
I would have be led out of the place in handcuffs!
The news would have ate the story up!
