Waste Oil

Hey sorry to start a new thread about this, but the one i was reading about it in wasnt fully devoted to waste oil and I just have some questions. From what I understand I can just buy filters and run my old engine oil through them and then mix it with my diesel. Is this true or are there other things I'm missing. Are there any side effects to this? Is there anything I have to modify on my truck? Is there specific types of oil I have to use? I work at a dealership so I have access to a whole bunch of old oil.

Never mind. I didn't realize there was a section for this and my thread just got moved here. Sorry I'm a moron some times lol.
