I have a partial 55 gal drum with veggie oil of unknown origin. It smells like paint and I believe it is oxidized. I have set it aside because I don't care to use it in my WVO converted truck. What should I do with the oil? Take it to the recycle center at my local dump -OR- can it be used to make quality bioD with it being oxidized? I'd rather give it away to someone who would process it than dump it, but never having made bioD I have no idea if this oil will work.

Don't use it as biofuel... bad news, from various reports. It'll go ahead and change into 'bad biodiesel' (that looks a bit like two biodiesel molecules stuck together, and has higher viscosity than you want) if you try to make it into biodiesel.

I'm for the heating fuel solution. Home heating oil is going to be very expensive this year.

I'm with Spencnaz on that one. But I would make biofuel and use it as heating fuel, not the wvo directly, unless you have a burner that can utilize fuel as thick as vegetable oil...

I have a bunch of WVO in 55 gallon drums that smells rancit and I am processing into BioD to use in my Kerosene monitor heater. Worked good last year should work again this year.

Has anyone tryed using WVO in a home heating system. I just had to buy 500 Gallons of home heating oil. Would be nice to be able to use WVO? Hell if my Car Can run on it a Burner should.
You haven't seen the van they use! It's awesome, converted to 4WD. I'd buy it if I had the chance.
